Free Cellular Alarm (FCA) Help and Frequently Asked Questions

My providers list is empty

Start FCA when you have a permament internet connection. FCA needs the internet to send a message and does not start your modem automatically. In order to send the alarm, the internet connection must also be active.

My cell provider is not listed

That's because we have not yet determined the format of sending messages to your cell phone provider. If you know the format for sending a message by email to your cell, please let us know and we will automatically update our definitions and Cell Alarm will download this automatically. The format could be something like ########@cellprovider.com or ########@sms.cellco.com etc. If you do not know, please contact your provider asking them how you can send a text message from your computer's email program (like Outlook) to your cell phone. You need the send SMS email format. Once you get it, contact us for the automatic update.

Why can I only send one alarm?

Why I can't get an alarm on my cell phone?

There are many reasons but most probably your FCA configuration settings are incorrect. Your computer must also be running and Free Cell Alarm must be active.

I get an "Authentication Required" message.

FCA does not support email providers which require passwords for sending emails. Only Cell Alarm provides this functionality.
